These pictures of Luke were taken the night he was tragically lost - so treasured are they now!  Learn more about Bloat and steps to help reduce the risks on my health resource site - bloat strikes without discrementation - never expected and often when no one is around - it is swift and deadly with very difficult recovery if that is possible and depending on each cases severity.  Lukes family did all they could to save him - in 3-4 hours time he was gone.

"Luke" is pictured above competing in the 2004 River City Cluster dog show at the age of 18 months. Towering over the competition at almost 28"  Luke is now taking time to fill outwards instead of up :o).  "Luke" is pointed taking WD/BOW at the Guadalupe Dog Fancier's show earlier this year.  "Luke" is owned and loved by Kevin, Wanda, Nick & K.J. Moore of Kirby Texas and proudly shown and co-owned by OshoZen Akitas. The top center photo has always been my favorite - so elegant and still so powerful.
"Luke" was one of kind - a real showman, very proud and flashy...he loved to go to the shows - he loved the excitement and the other dogs in the OshoZen family - his favorite was Jorja my Newfoundland - he wasn't sure what she was but he had fun keeping up with her and taking walks together when he boarded or traveled with me.  Most of all I was so proud of how Luke took care of his family - he was so loved by the Moores and he loved each of them heaps in return.  From snuggling in bed and kicking his way under the covers to; refusing to "go to his bed" until it was folded just so before he placed his favorite toys carefully each by his side; to pounding the boys relentlessly in order to wake them for school each day to diligently guarding his mistress Wanda when she was so vulerable from a severe injury and home alone while everyone was at school or work - she felt so safe under your watchful loving eyes.  You tended to your family with such devotion and adoration and love - again Luke I'm so proud...

Their house is quite now without you - their hearts are heavy -- I'm counting on their memories of your many crazy antics to bring smiles back to their faces soon as they look back on all you had given to all that loved you so and with great pride Luke - I thank you!.   Stephanie

Luke is pictured with his best friend and Daddy Kevin (left) and on the right in the lap of his little "brother" K.J. - now if that face doesn't say mischief maker I don't know one that does :o)
